Discover how two visionary artists and friends emerged from the subways and clubs of downtown New York into the bright lights of international stardom. Investigate their sources of inspiration and understand the processes behind their unique visual worlds. This program includes a 45 minute introductory talk and a self-guided viewing of Keith Haring | Jean-Michel Basquiat: Crossing Lines.

Sound and Vision: When Music and Art Collide Levels 7-12, Tertiary, Mon-Fri ,10am, 11am, 12pm & 1pm

Tune in to a duet between music and art in Keith Haring | Jean-Michel Basquiat: Crossing Lines and the NGV’s Collection. This program explores how artists transform musical ideas into visual form, and how visual art inspires radical sounds. Follow a journey through visual and musical worlds spanning hundreds of years from the Medieval period to punk and hip hop.

Basquiat’s Beat Pop Postcard Shop Levels 7-12, Tertiary, Mon-Fri ,10am, 11am, 12pm & 1pm

Work as a team to the beat of Basquiat’s favorite music. In this workshop students use a range of media over multiple layers to create bold postcard artworks inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat. This program includes a 45 minute introductory talk, a self-guided viewing of Keith Haring | Jean-Michel Basquiat: Crossing Lines and a 1 hour workshop.

Digital Creatives: Keith Haring’s Digital Dance Club Levels 5-12, Tertiary, Mon-Fri ,10am, 11am, 12pm & 1pm

Supported by Principal Partner, Telstra

Combine bold and bright patterns with simple coding to create your own dancing digital animation inspired by Keith Haring’s work. This workshop introduces students to block coding in Scratch.

Cost $27 per student, maximum 25 students (3 hours)
