Elizabeth Gower

Since the 1970s, Elizabeth Gower has exhibited intricate collages composed from the detritus of everyday life which she arranges in rhythmic and geometric compositions. The first version of this work was in an exhibition curated by Gower that invited artists to make work using everyday items. Now, further developed, the artwork comprises 150 circular components made from tea-bag labels, price tags, junk mail, and other fragments. Here, familiar ephemera take on a mesmeric, formal beauty.
