The designers behind the interiors on display in the Rigg Design Prize 2018 talk about their ideas and approach to the design brief.
2pm – Scott Weston on Wunderkammer
Scott Weston established his studio in 1997 and focuses on producing singular well-crafted interiors with personality for domestic and commercial spaces. His theatrical flair for rich and dramatic interior concepts is based on a rigorous set of design rules.
2.30pm – David Hicks on Panic Room
David Hicks is synonymous with luxury interior design. Establishing David Hicks design studio in Melbourne in 2001, he released his first book Intimate – A Private World of Interiors in 2016 through publishers Thames & Hudson. His projects are regularly profiled in Architectural Digest, Belle, Case da Abitare, Elle Decoration and Vogue Living.
3pm – Hecker Guthrie on The table is the base
Hecker Guthrie studio is a multi-disciplinary practice based in Melbourne. Under the direction of Paul Hecker and Hamish Guthrie, the studio is renowned for its domestic interiors and hospitality projects. Hallmarks of the studio include a natural colour palette, use of handmade furnishings and ability to fill rooms with light.
