Bach X Reimagined
Live performances at 6.30pm, 7.30pm & 8.30pm
Presented by anon.
‘when I am listening to Bach I frequently get inspired and feel an overwhelming instinct for his insistent rhythm, a cadence seeking something of the infinite.’ – M. C. Escher
Inspired by composer Johann Sebastian Bach’s repetitious compositions, Escher’s art of infinite tessellations mirrors Bach’s music. Referencing this parallel, creative collaboration anon. brings together Australian composers and performing artists to reimagine the works of Bach with live performances, new compositions across baroque, classical and jazz styles and a specially commissioned soundscape.

With her warm, spectral and danceable compositions earning well-deserved praise, Eilish has a keen sense of how deeply devastating a lone voice and some synths can be.
8–10pm FILM SCHOOL COLLECTIVE
Film School Collective (TFSC) is a musical feast of other worldly elements. TFSC is the brainchild of Joel Ma AKA Joelistics working with cellos, Guzheng (Chinese harp), synthesizers, electronics, Carnatic singing and percussion to create a future/ancient soundtrack of multicultural Australia built from ambient textures, hip hop beats, music concrète, experimental noise and Traditional Chinese music. TFSC paint a slow moving hypnotic audio portrait of stillness and chaos bridging the worlds of contemporary electronic music, traditional acoustic instrumentation, carefully composed melodies, freeform improvisation and textural impressionistic narrative elements.
