Craig Green’s innovative and emotive collections interrogate masculinity and explore themes of protection, utility and vulnerability by reconfiguring garment archetypes such as uniforms and workwear. Look 6, jacket, shorts and shoes shows Green’s idiosyncratic approach to materials and craftsmanship. It is a technically complex work of interwoven moulded, padded, quilted, hand-painted and hand-finished leather panels that snap-fasten into a protective exoskeleton. The ensemble incorporates an amalgamation of references, from biker jackets to sports padding, martial-arts uniforms to meccano. To make this work, Green partnered with ECCO.kollektive, a recently established arm of the Danish leather tannery that collaborates with designers on limited-edition capsule collections.

Since establishing his eponymous label in 2012, Craig Green has set about radically redefining contemporary menswear. Green’s innovative and emotive collections interrogate masculinity by reconfiguring traditional menswear codes, and his idiosyncratic approach to materials and craftsmanship has seen him become one of the most influential and critically acclaimed designers working today. Notable for his conceptual creativity and bold visual effects, Green recalibrates garment typologies to question heteronormative fashion conventions. Green was awarded Best Emerging Menswear Designer at the British Fashion Council Fashion Awards in 2014, was voted Best British Menswear Designer three years running from 2016 to 2018, and was appointed as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2022 for his services to fashion.
