Physical description
Meoto Iwa are known as the wedded rocks as they are joined together by a large rope spun form rice straw. Located by the coastline at Ise (near Ise shrine) they are regarded as one of the most sacred Shinto sights in Japan and of spiritual significance to be viewed at sunrise.
