Physical description
Wedding outfit comprising of bodice and skirt. (a) Cream silk grosgrain bodice with high neckline, lower bodice and border of hem trimmed with appliqué of silk embroidered flowers, and edged with a deep flounce of machine-made needle-run lace that is also draped across the bust line. Bodice features fronts darts decorated with feather-stitch and is tucked at centre back to conceal the back lacing. Puffed gigot sleeves taper at wrist with a silk cord finish. Bodice laces centre back through hand stitched eyelets, with inside waist-belt of cream silk with metal buckle, and two hook and eyes at neckline. Fully lined with silk twill. (b) Cream silk grosgrain eight gored skirt, cut straight at front, with deep pleats at the back, falling into an oval train with a lining of silk taffeta, cotton gauze and two double box-pleated frills of torchon lace, machine and handmade.
