McDavitt, in command, and Edward H. White / -the first Americans to fly in space. Among his other ac- / complishments, McDavitt proved to be an excellent photog- / rapher. The photos he took of his colleague, White, while / the two of them were flying in their spacecraft, became / front-page news in newspapers and magazines all over / the world.
