The NGV is an extraordinary place to learn. The Gallery’s expansive collection of historical and contemporary art and design, and a dynamic annual program of special exhibitions, offer unique experiential learning opportunities for students and teachers of all year levels and multiple areas of the curriculum.
Our interactive programs spark curiosity and immerse students in rich discussion and activities inspired by art and design. Through close looking, guided enquiry, and creative activities students build visual literacy, deepen their understanding of different learning areas, and connect ideas across subject areas. All programs are developed and led by experienced gallery educators and are designed to help develop confidence in interpreting, questioning and meaning making.
