Eben’s personal exploration focuses on a central theme of beauty. Using mind maps, brainstorms and thumbnail sketches he begins to develop a practical investigation.  Here we see a focused exploration of personal ideas that continues throughout his body of work clearly communicating his thinking and working practices.

Eben’s choices show informed and reflective judgments as he develops and refines his personal concept. Here he is experimenting with and beginning to consolidate his thinking and working practices giving a clear focus to his visual imagery. Throughout his Visual Diary Eben continues to successfully communicate his ideas and his approach to effectively express his intention to the viewer.

Throughout his Visual Diary Eben continues to successfully communicate his ideas and his approach to effectively express his intention to the viewer.

Eben’s final artworks involved creating a series of paintings. Throughout his Visual Diary you can see him experimenting with materials and techniques in order to refine and develop his skill.  He is consistently documenting his thinking practices with detailed and insightful annotation and exploring imagery including digital based manipulation and more traditional approaches.

Eben’s application and manipulation of his own visual language via informed judgments using elements and principles are very effective in his body of work. He demonstrates a sophisticated and consistent use of the elements and principles that results in a high level of control in his body of work and final artworks.  He resolves compositional problems with a variety of trials and documentation.

Throughout the visual diary Eben demonstrates a very high level of understanding of art language. His reflection is insightful and sophisticated. He documents his process and thinking in a critical manner and applies the Analytical Frameworks throughout using a colour-coded key to acknowledge the relevant framework. Eben’s thinking and working practices indicate a highly effective understanding of the application of visual language and the Analytical Frameworks.
