Ground Level
17th Century Pastoral Holland was concerned with documenting the development of Dutch landscape in prints as well as some watercolour drawings. The exhibition was supplemented by three paintings, two loaned by the Metropolitan Museum, New York, and Hobbema’s “The Old Oak” from the Gallery’s collection. Apart from the paintings, all works in this exhibition were from the collections of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, selected by Dr. K. G. Boon (Director, Rijksprentenkabinet) and catalogued by Miss Irene de Groot who also accompanied the exhibition to Australia.
