The Alcorso Sekers Travelling Scholarship Award for Sculpture was initiated by Australian arts patron John Kalder. State gallery directors selected the entrants to the travel grant prize, and an exhibition of their work was shown in alternate years at the state galleries. The winners won a $2,000 travel grant. The winner of the 1968 Prize was Michael Young for the work Implications, Directions. The prize was judged by Kaldor, then NGV Director Eric Westbrook and architect Robin Boyd.
