The art of Arthur Streeton is probably more familiar to the Australian public than that of any other Australian painter and yet there has not been a major survey of his work for more than fifty years. Streeton’s indentification with the landscape was personal, poetic and intensely romantic, and this retrospective exhibition of eighty-three of his most important and beautiful works celebrates his sustained achievement over a career of fifty-eight years.
