One of Australia’s most significant artists, Brett Whiteley achieved national and international recognition throughout his prodigious career as a painter, sculptor and draughtsman. This exhibition was the first major retrospective of the Whiteley’s work and covered the period from the late 1950s to the last few years of the artist’s life.

Staged by the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the exhibition toured to all Australian states and the Northern Territory across a fifteen month period.
