British Artist’s Prints

NGV International

Ground Level

12 Dec 75 – 11 Jan 76

In the last ten years there has been a revival of interest in artists’ prints and most young British painters are deeply interested in the graphic medium, an art form which can be made available to a much wider audience than can painting.

This exhibition comprises 58 artists prints, which include etchings, lithographs, screenprints and linocuts. It is of special interest in showing a stylistically wide range of work encompassing the generation associated with the St. Ives group as well as the British Pop and Op Art movements. Among those artists represented are Patrick Caulfield, Bernard and Harold Cohen, Alan Davie, Robyn Denny, Richard Hamilton, David Hockney, Allen Jones, Henry Moore, Eduardo Paolozzi, Victor Pasmore, Bridget Riley, Michael Rothenstein, William Scott and Joe Tilson.
