This exhibition will display over 200 items representing a kaleidoscope of mainly Australian and English infants, bridal and mourning fashions spanning the years between the 16th century to the present day. It gives the costume department the opportunity to exhibit these special fashions that have rarely been on public view. The rich contrasting costumes are strengthened with important loans from The National Trust of Australia and The Power House, Sydney, with early 19th century Bridal gowns brought to Australia when families emigrated during the 1850s, bound for the goldfields.
