Ground Level
Lady of Fashion 1800-1935 presents more than three hundred and seventy costumes and accessories from the 19th and 20th century costumes acquired from the Anne Schofield collection in 1974 with a subsidy from the State Government.
With the purchase of the Schofield Collection the National Gallery of Victoria is now in the fortunate position of having a remarkably complete collection of female costumes of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries so providing us with a fine cavalcade of fashion for our study and delight.
