Ground Level
This exhibition explores some of the interconnections between Japanese and Chinese art, and also the indigenous Japanese and Chinese-inspired traditions in Japanese arts: related but independent artistic streams that echo, influence and interact with each other. In this show the majority of the artworks are Japanese from the Edo period (1615–1868), many of them recent acquisitions.
