Rembrandt Etchings

NGV International

Ground Level

9 Feb – 9 Apr 78

The Prints and Drawings department of the National Gallery of Victoria is exhibiting Australia’s finest collection of Rembrandt etchings. The etchings have entered the Collection over many years by numerous bequests or donated by private benefactors. The Gallery now owns over 125 Rembrandt etchings – a little over a third of the total number of his etchings – and these include fine impressions of many of his most important plates. The Gallery’s entire collection of Rembrandt etchings was last shown in 1969.
