Richard Stankiewicz

This exhibition brings together work by renown American sculptor Richard Stankiewisz. The works are primarily made from scrap metal. Stankiewicz was born in 1922 in Philadelphia and began painting and sculpturing while serving in the US Navy during World War Two. He studied under Hans Hofmann in New York and in the early 1950s with Fernand Léger in Paris. He is dedicating to creating art from found materials, focussing on urban, industrial detritus.
