Ground Level
Russell Drysdale 1912–81 presented almost 80 works from collections around the world, of which several were seen in Australia for the first time since they were painted. Drysdale’s images of rural country towns and outback landscapes, often including their inhabitants, were instrumental in defining a national identity at a time of tremendous social change in Australian history.
