The Cicely and Colin Rigg Craft Award 1997

NGV International

Ground Level

10 Oct – 3 Dec 97

The Cicely and Colin Rigg Craft Award is a generous legacy of the late Colin Rigg (1895-1982), a former Secretary of the Felton Bequest Committee for the National Gallery of Victoria.

Occurring every three years, this prestigious award is dedicated to a distinct medium or design discipline, with the 1994 award devoted to ceramics. In 1997, this second edition of the award focused on metalwork with the exception of jewellery. Twenty outstanding craftspeople were selected as the finalists for the exhibition.

This year’s Cicely and Colin Rigg Craft Award recipient was Robert Baines.
