The NGV hosted the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize 1996, Australia’s richest portrait prize. Judges Judy Cassab AO CBE and James Mollison AO selected the thirty finalists for the fifth edition of the prize, while Dr Charles Saumarez Smith judged the winner of the competition.
Greg Creek was the recipient of the 1996 prize for his work Picture of Carolyn Eskdale, 1996.
