The International Decorative Arts and Antiquities collection represents almost one thousand years of international design history through ceramics, glass, metalwork, jewellery and furniture, from the medieval period through to 1980.
Strengths of the department include British and continental decorative arts from 1200 to 1980, North American decorative arts of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, Mediterranean and Near Eastern antiquities, Murano glass, and porcelain from renowned manufactories like Meissen, Sèvres and Wedgewood.
