The underskirt of brown printed wool is gathered onto a 6cm two-piece waistband. Printed with the same pattern as featured on the overskirt, in a smaller scale repeat. The skirt buttons on the side with one button on the waistband and one button on the 5.5cm wide placket inserted in the side skirt. The 2cm wide buttons are made of horn. The external waistband has been pieced to allow the long flat shoelace to thread though and tie on top of the buttoning. The hemline is finished with tape.
