About this work

Jean Paul Gaultier has long been known as the enfant terrible of French fashion, injecting kitsch into couture and producing witty clothes and accessories which redefine notions of taste and elegance. This Bag is evidence of his playfulness in design, and is perhaps a precursor to the cone-shaped bust-forms which later came to characterise his work.
