About this work
Gupta’s works of art celebrate the accoutrements of everyday life for many Indians. This bronze sculpture is of a motor scooter replete with milk pails. Casting such a modest and ubiquitous mode of transport in bronze – a material synonymous with sculptures worshipped in temples across India – elevates the object and provides the opportunity to appreciate, relish and celebrate the truly humble, and to reflect on our place in the world.
