About this work

Watanabe’s Reconstruction collection channels punk angst, with models sporting exaggerated paper Mohawks and masked faces on the runway. Inspired by the band Mad Capsule Markets, it features patched tour T-shirts, ripped crochet, distressed leather and camouflage. Also evident is Watanabe’s precision in reimagining subcultures, trenchcoats and Edwardian frockcoats through his idiosyncratic lens.
