typed on accompanying paper label: “I was born in 1901 in Kraly Hida on the border of Austria and Hungary. I studied at the / Royal Academy of Music in Budapest and in 1938 I went to England with my little son. After / thirteen years I emigrated to Australia with him, in 1952. I achieved my career as a concert / and opera singer in Australia. When I was seventy-two years old I gave song and piano / recitals in Melbourne, and now at eighty-eight I am still teaching singing and am daily / practising my piano. I have published in English two books - one is ‘The Art of Singing’ (now / in its fourth edition). The second book was published in 1972, it is my autobiography called / ‘With Music to Eternity’. It will be published in paperback, the two books together - ‘With / music to Eternity’ and the continuation of an autobiography which will be called ‘Old Age, Success and Achievement’. The manuscripts are now deposited at the Archives of the State Library of Victoria. I have received three Certificates of Merit from the International / Biographical Centre in Cambridge, England.
