About this work

The abstracted floral motifs in this printed taffeta evening dress were created by famed Swiss textile manufacturer Abraham. Often suppliers would meet with couturiers ahead of a collection being developed and collaborate on the creation of specific prints. Abraham established a close working relationship with Christian Dior in the 1950s, and the house’s connection with Abraham continued into the Yves Saint Laurent era.
