About this work

John Galliano’s collections at Dior were known for their artful use of drapery and fluid lines. In this ensemble, Galliano imbues the tracksuit with a punk sensibility that echoes the work of Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren. The work also reflects early 2000s hip-hop culture, as seen in the aesthetics of performers such as Jennifer Lopez, Missy Elliot and Lil’ Kim.
