About this work

A recurring reference in Jean Paul Gaultier’s work is his interest in cage silhouettes, enmeshing Victorian crinolines with the chains and constraints of the S&M world. Here, the structured form of the black Cage waistcoat shows Gaultier’s skilful manipulations of masculine dress codes.
