About this work

This deconstructed dress is a prime example of Maison Martin Margiela’s predilection for recycled and upcycled fabrics. This runway piece from the 2005 collection showcases one of the designers’ key concepts: the detournement of an existing garment or discarded material for transformation into something else. This manufacturing technique makes each dress unique.
