About this work

In 1999, Maison Martin Margiela collaborated with Italian bedding company Featherlite to create the house’s ‘duvet coats’, which have since gone on to become a signature style for the house. Look 9, duvet coat is an original runway piece from the autumn–winter 1999 collection. Enveloping the body like a cocoon, it repurposes a ubiquitous object as clothing.
