About this work
Known for her innovative, feminist and postmodern approach to design, Miuccia Prada is one of the most influential womenswear designers working today. This nylon dress and overdress demonstrates how Prada subverts conventional styles and ideas of beauty using eclectic and technologically advanced textiles. Evident in this work is the designer’s retro-futurist aesthetic and the interrogation of notions of good and bad taste, juxtaposing colours and material finishes that evince a deliberate tension.
