About this work

For the Misia Divia (Pin Up) collection, John Galliano was inspired by the city of Paris and designer Madeleine Vionnet, who was a recurrent source of inspiration for Galliano alongside China, the First Empire, and the Edwardian era. Among the Vionnet and 1930s references here is Galliano’s approach to the bias-cut and scalloped waistline of the dress. Also ever-present is his mastery of cutting and draping techniques.
