About this work

Kurihara’s early designs were known for their femininity and delicacy, informed by materials such as lace, cotton and tulle. Her 2006 autumn–winter collection saw her explore stoles in myriad ways, echoing girlish tropes and vintage bed linen. Her poetic sensibility is distilled in overdyed, imperfect wraps, opera coats and scarves.
