About this work

Aalto’s Screen was designed around the same time as his Tea trolley and reflects his interest in producing flexible furniture for the interior. The Screen could be rolled up for storage or rolled out to form straight or fluid room dividers. It was marketed in England by Finmar, a wholesale company founded in 1934 – just a year after Aalto’s Paimio chair was released – to market Aalto’s plywood furniture in the UK.
