About this work

Architect and visual artist Stephen Bram explores the relationship between abstract art and architectural space. Beginning in 2014, Bram’s paintings moved from strict, hard-edged abstraction to black-and-white paintings made with small, organic paint gestures. The paintings resemble a mix of pointillism (a technique originating in the late nineteenth century in which small dots of paint form an overall image), finger-painting and extreme macro views of organic matter blown up to the point of abstraction.
