About this work
This poster by French designer Henry Rapin advertises the issue of two million bonds in support of the 1925 International Exhibition of Decorative Arts and Modern Industry. Interested parties could lend money in the form of bonds via Crédit Foncier de France to help the French government fund the exhibition. In exchange, they were offered a range of financial incentives. The poster shows artisans from various countries bearing aloft their nations’ flags. While the United States is represented, it ultimately declined to participate in the exhibition.
