About this work

Inspired by London’s new boutique culture and a mix of pop, fashion and music, John and Merivale Hemmes established House of Merivale (HoM) to bring progressive, youth-oriented fashion to Australia. With its lively atmosphere, HoM stocked imports alongside a variety of emerging young Australian designers, such as Prue Acton, Kenneth Pirrie and Norma Tullo, as well as Merivale’s own range of blouses, dresses, leather jackets, handbags and accessories for women.
