About this work
This Indigenous-led short film was shot on location in the remote community of Indulkana. With irreverent humour, it reflects on the transition from traditional to contemporary life while celebrating Aṉangu cultural resilience. A surreal take on a ‘normal’ day in community, the video features the local football team, a desert rock band and a high-speed car ride. The film incorporates original music by local musicians, choreography combining elements of cultural dance with contemporary influences, and props and costumes designed and produced by local artists. At its heart, the film promotes a strong, positive message about life in a remote Aboriginal community.
