About this work

The back of this Alexander McQueen dress is screenprinted with the 1932 photograph Io et gatto (I and cat) by the Italian Futurist photographer Wanda Wulz. The iconic photograph was created by printing two negatives together, a self-portrait of Wulz and a close-up of a cat’s face. McQueen has given the dress further dimension and kinetic qualities by adding laser-cut vertical slashes.
