About this work
Ton tall is a collaboration between Fiona Lynch Office and Volker Haug Studio. Reimagining Haug’s sculptural table lamp Tableton, it forms part of a collection of lights made from polished gunmetal, polished aluminium or raw aluminium. Each lamp is poured as a single piece using traditional sand-casting methods that impress texture onto the surface. With sustainability in mind, Lynch reconfigured an existing cast to create this version in raw aluminium. Fragmented in the vertical plane, the light glows in all directions, creating the illusion of a continuous beam. This lamp is part of Lynch ’s first capsule collection, which produces pieces using waste materials and local fabrication.
