About this work
Following Franco Moschino’s death in 1994, his friend Rossella Jardini became the creative director of his label, followed by American designer Jeremy Scott from 2013 to 2023. Scott’s entertaining collections drew from the everyday or popular culture, featuring references to recognisable icons such as McDonalds, Barbie and SpongeBob SquarePants. This evening dress from his debut collection for Moschino embodies his idiosyncratic exploration of consumer culture, materialised through transposing commercial iconography onto garments.
