About this work
Japanese-born Satoshi Kondo joined Issey Miyake in 2011, accumulating experience across several Issey Miyake brands such as Pleats Please and Homme Plissé. Kondo is now the head designer and artistic director of the main Issey Miyake line. Kondo is part of a new generation of Japan’s leading designers, continuing to push the limits of textiles and make their mark on the fashion industry. RECTILINEAR, dress, from the Square and Beyond collection, is indicative of the Issey Miyake design codes: championing geometry, angular silhouettes, movement, flat pattern-making and innovative textiles.
