Physical description
Oval black mourning locket with an applied decorative element in high relief featuring a bouquet of flowers and leaves. Single hinge at proper left edge opens to reveal an inset image on each side: an oval black and white photograph of a man at proper right, and of a woman at proper left. Each photograph is adhered directly to the black background and surrounded with inscribed abstract decorations. A glass oval front rimmed with a gold coloured metal edging is inset over the image, and surrounded by further inscribed abstract decoration. The glass, metal rim and a lock of fair hair from over the image of the woman is currently stored separately. The locket may be thermoset plastic. Two holes present near the hinge.
