Physical description
Elongated ovoid shape with wide, flaring neck; grey glaze with purple/brown slip painted around body and hand at neck, painted with dark grey pigment in vertical stripes enclosing zig-zag patterns. Described by the potter as 'alumina matt glaze decorated with iron, manganese and cobalt oxides'.
