About this work

Interlaced throughout this wall are numerous works that capture the relationship between fibre practice, waterways and agricultural practice to illustrate the symbiotic kinship between Country, design and cultural practice. Wally Mandarrk’s work figuratively depicts kunyirrk (dilly bags) filling the visual plane. The painterly construction of the kunyirrk depicts the different modes of making, highlighting the diversity of fibre as a medium.
