inscribed in pen and ink on reverse u.l.: Mount William from The verandah at Barton. / height 4500 feet and about 400 above the Station. / accessible on horseback for about one third of the / way up, and above that inaccessible in most parts / even on foot. November 1844.
inscribed in pen and ink on accompanying card c.r.: "Richard Hanmer Bunbury is a brother of / Lt H.W. Bunbury. The Town of Bunbury, Western Australia was named after Lt. H.W. / Bunbury, and he (H.W.B.) is my grandfather. / The sketches were sent by Hanmer Bunbury / to his father Lt. Gen. Sir H.E. Bunbury, K.C.B." / Sir Charles H.N. Bunbury / corresp. May 1954.
